POEM: 80 MORE YEARS (written at age 40)

BY Yah’s grace, and in His plan,

I would like
80 more years.

Days of laughter, days of tears,
Challenges and hard times,
Joys, pains, thrills and fears.

Spin them out, hand them over.
Dish them out, make me sober.

Although I know that any day
Your Son may come
To call our names.
Help me be ready and not
Caught off guard.
And I’ll live and thrive,
Do more than survive.

Walk on and on in this narrow road,
Always advancing,
Setbacks notwithstanding . . .
Always fighting,
Never retreating.

The battles of the LORD
Are in His hand.
But on my sword
I have the emblem
Of His mission,
The sign of His Spirit,
The token of His victory.

Help me glorify You, O Yah,
Lay before me the wonders of Your Word
And teach me to follow
Its spirit to the “t”
In Yeshua’s beautiful name,
